The ethics of permacultural are:
These underpin the way we want to work and the society we would like to help create. Through Lakeland Permaculture we offer quality commercial services and support for people working towards sustainable lifestyles; helping them make good use of land and resources, develop skills, value rural environment, improve biodiversity and encourage 'community'. In doing this we anticipate that not all of our activities will be purely commercial. Our business prinicples are based on practical Environmental Management Systems and a Triple Bottom Line approach to our activities, so that we will consider the ‘Environmental’ and ‘Social’ impacts of what we do, rather than simply basing decisions upon ‘Financial’ considerations. We intend to consider some less conventional approaches to organisation and are interested in making links with people to explore:
Lakeland Permaculture provides us with opportunities to focus on things we consider important. We expect that our primary focus will be in southern parts of the English Lake District, Cumbria, but are also interested in contributing on a wider level and will consider helping elsewhere, nationally or internationally on a commercial, or ‘pro bono’ basis, as appropriate.
